Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Employment Law Paralegal to join our legal team in Jacksonville, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in employment law and a desire to support attorneys in providing top-notch legal services to our clients. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic legal environment and develop expertise in the field of employment law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of employment law cases, including administrative proceedings and litigation.
- Conduct legal research on employment law issues, regulations, and case law.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Maintain case files, documentation, and correspondence related to employment law matters.
- Coordinate and manage document reviews and productions during discovery.
- Assist in the preparation for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Perform factual investigation and compile evidence to support legal arguments.
- Stay current with updates in employment laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure seamless workflow.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution.
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably with a focus on employment law.
- Strong understanding of employment law principles, regulations, and procedures.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing, including drafting legal documents.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with e-discovery platforms and document management systems.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software.
