ABOUT TURN COMMUNITY SERVICES
Formerly known as Project TURN, we were founded in 1973 by a group of parents who wanted better program services for their adult children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Now known as TURN Community Services, we provide resources to more than 850 individuals with developmental disabilities across Utah. With locations from Brigham City to St. George, we offer a full range of services including day programs, residential living, art center programs, summer camp, and supported employment opportunities.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EMPLOYMENT SERVICES SPECIALIST
You work closely with students and adults with disabilities to help them find jobs. You assess their skills and career interests, develop job opportunities in the community, and provide on-the-job support to ensure they are fulfilling their job duties. In addition, you assist them in interviewing for jobs and then coach them until they are ready to stand on their own. Essentially, you are teaching individuals how to go through the process of getting a job and then keeping it. The typical schedule for this position is day time hours Monday through Friday, some flexibility to work at other times is required to meet the needs of the program and participants.
You actively promote and present information to local schools and businesses in order to encourage enrollment and participation. QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN EMPLOYMENT SERVICES SPECIALIST
- 18+ years of age
- Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
- Ability to complete ACRE certification (Association of Community Rehabilitation Educations) within 3 months of hire
- Proficient with a computer
- Willingness to comply with our company policy regarding background checks and drug screening
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Must have experience in a human service field
