Salary: $22.00 / hour
Our client, a division of a large Canadian corporation, is currently looking for a responsible and reliable Shipper-Receiver / Yard Worker to join their team. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys manual labour, working in a casual blue-collar environment and working both indoors and outdoors. This is a Full-Time permanent opportunity.

Required skills and qualifications:
- Minimum 1-year experience in a similar labour type position
- Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors any time of year (can be muddy/dirty during rain/snow season)
- Previous forklift experience considered an asset
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50lbs
- Great customer service skills
- Safety Conscious
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Must be willing and eager to learn
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Collecting items for client orders based on order sheets
- Load and unload products from trucks manually and with a forklift
- Operating forklift to move / load / unload heavy items and skids of products (will be trained & certified)
- Assist drivers with strapping product onto flatbed trucks
- Store and organize merchandise (outdoor yard and indoor warehouse)
- Assist customers who are visiting to pick up product orders
- Help track inventory levels and assist with regular inventory counts
- Could be asked to do deliveries from time to time in a company pickup truck if short staffed
- Lifting up to 50lbs
- Maintain clean and well-organized warehouse and storage yard
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
The wage for this position starts at $22.00 per hour.
Monday to Friday – 6:30am to 3:30pm – Location: Central East End of Ottawa (near St-Laurent Blvd)
