Our client, reputable international aerospace and defence company with an office located in downtown Ottawa, is currently looking for a Junior Systems Engineering Technologist (Mechanical) to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate is adaptable, can multi-task and has keen attention to detail. Please note this position is a hybrid role – 3 days in office.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for ensuring Product Safety and Engineering Governance requirements as described in Victoria Class Engineering, Safety and Environmental Management Plan are followed
- Provide ESPs in support of material procurement and repair
- Review and analyze strip/survey reports from suppliers
- Provide Configuration control and support within the office as well as to customers
- Manage assigned tasks to achieve objectives within the assigned budget and timeframe
- Attend meetings with customers
- Liaise and communicate with customers as required to ensure that expectations are met
- Assist with recreating CAD drawings if current versions are ineligible
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Line Manager
Required skills and qualifications:
- Must have a clean criminal record and be able to pass a security assessment as per the Controlled Goods Program of Canada which requires applicants to be a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen (work permit and study permit is not sufficient)
- Must be eligible for a Secret Security Clearance
- Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Previous experience using CAD software
- Proficient with MS Word and Excel (Intermediate)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Analytical

- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and turnaround times
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
The wage for this position ranges from $50,000 – $70,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
Monday to Friday – Hours are flexible – Start 7:30am to 9:00am, Finish 4:00pm to 6:00pm (37.5 hours per week)
