Employment Operations & Records is currently seeking candidates interested in growing in the HR field while being exposed to a wide range of HR knowledge and practices. In this entry-level role, full training will be provided and opportunities for growth are attainable.
The Employment Operations & Records unit of UF Human Resources is responsible for all electronic transactions that support the hiring and employment changes during the lifecycle of UF employees. As part of this team, the Employment Specialist I works in partnership with UF departments to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of employment-related actions while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
Specific responsibilities of the Employment Specialist I include the following:
- Evaluates supporting documentation of personnel actions which include hiring paperwork and applicable forms to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university regulations
- Provides guidance to UF departments on applicable laws and University regulations and policies to ensure the timely approval of personnel actions
- Provides quality customer service by responding to and completing requests via email and phone related to employment verifications, system troubleshooting, employment data updates, and public records

UF provides a variety of leave programs including vacation, sick leave, 11 paid holidays, personal leave days, and family medical leave. TEAMS employees accrue approximately 22 vacation days annually, 13 sick days annually, and 4 personal leave days which is typically used during the holiday closing period (accruals based on full-time employment).
Expected Salary:
$16.76 – $19.16 hourly; commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and one years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
