Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling a wide range of labor and employment matters and a strong understanding of California labor laws. This position offers remote flexibility, allowing you to work efficiently and effectively from the comfort of your home office while being fully supported by our experienced support staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in various labor and employment matters, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, and employee benefits.
- Conduct thorough legal research, analyze complex legal issues, and prepare well-reasoned legal opinions and briefs.
- Draft and review employment contracts, employee handbooks, and company policies to ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws.
- Represent clients in administrative hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
- Collaborate with the support staff and other attorneys to develop effective case strategies and deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
- Keep abreast of changes in labor and employment laws and regulations, and provide proactive advice to clients to prevent potential legal issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, documents, and records using our firm’s case management system.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member of the California State Bar with a minimum of 5 years of experience practicing labor and employment law.
- Strong knowledge of California labor and employment laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
- Proven litigation and negotiation skills, with a successful track record of representing clients in labor and employment disputes.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Prior experience working remotely is a plus.
