We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Manager of Policy and Business Analysis to spearhead stakeholder relations, government advocacy, and policy development initiatives.

The Role:
As the Manager of Policy and Business Analysis, you will play a pivotal role in driving advocacy efforts, forging connections, and fostering a thriving economic landscape. Here’s what you’ll do:
1. Policy Positioning: Harness local input through committees and focus groups, merging it with cutting-edge industry research to formulate impactful policy stances.
2. Effective Messaging: Coordinate internal and external communication on policy issues, ensuring fairness, balance, and compelling messaging through various platforms.
3. Written Excellence: Craft comprehensive documentation to bolster policy development, including reports, briefs, key messages, grant proposals, and recommendations.
4. Influential Representation: Participate in local, provincial, and national policy discussions to effectively represent the Chamber’s positions.
5. Relationship Building: Foster and maintain relationships with key government contacts, ensuring productive engagement and outreach.
6. Nonpartisan Approach: Uphold our nonpartisan stance, facilitating balanced dialogues and reflections on pertinent business issues.
7. Information Mastery: Stay updated on industry trends, business community viewpoints, and political leaders’ positions to drive informed advocacy.
8. External Representation: Act as the Chamber’s representative on various external committees and groups, contributing to impactful decision-making.
9. Strategic Submissions: Prepare written submissions, letters, and lobbying credentials to influence decision-makers and shape policies.
10. Annual Reporting: Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare comprehensive annual reports showcasing the Chamber’s contributions to the business community.
11. Collaborative Networking: Liaise and coordinate with other Government Relations and Policy professionals to maximize impact.
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you will possess:
· Eligibility to work as a lobbyist in Alberta and Canada.
· Exceptional written communication skills for professional articulation.
· Strong time management and priority-setting abilities, with project management experience as an asset.
· A professional and personable approach, fostering relationships and influencing effectively.
· Comfort and willingness to use software and technology solutions for efficient member consultation processes.
· A collaborative team-player mindset, actively engaging in organizational events and activities.
Experience/Education Requirements:
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in research, political advising, economic analysis, or business leadership.
· A degree or diploma in political science, public policy, business, economics, or related fields.
Compensation:
- Salary range: $68,500 – $85,000 Annually.
