Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Talent Acquisition, this position provides staff support \related to human resources administration. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: student employment processing functions; administrative support for full-time and part-time recruitments; data analysis and data entry; and support and coordination of Student Employment services and the New Employee Orientation as needed. This position requires the maintenance of confidential files and materials and always maintains strict confidentiality.
The administrative support coordinator of this position directly assists the Director of Talent Acquisition, in work related to the Employment Services department, and Student Employment recruitment and hiring and the Employment Services department with administrative maintenance and file management for personnel files. This position will serve as the initial point of contact for the Employment Services department, for general office matters and communication.
FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,505.00-$4,250.00 per month commensurate with candidate’s education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,505 – $5,508 per month

Department Information
is responsible for the coordination of personnel (human resources) policies and programs in recruitment and employment matters for staff in accordance with collective bargaining agreements. The unit provides support to University administrators on employment matters concerning staff; administration of temporary employment staffing services; and employment orientation of new staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

1. Experience utilizing standard business software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe
2. Experience maintaining confidentiality and utilizing effective interpersonal skills to manage highly sensitive matters.

3. Ability to provide clerical and administrative support functions in a large/complex academic administrative office.
4. Ability to use judgement and discretion to address employment questions and issues.
5. Ability to perform work analysis, research, collect, organize, and compile information, and evaluate and recommend process improvements.
6. Ability to plan and coordinate assignments, adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency.
7. Ability to interpret and apply human resources policies, procedures, and bargaining unit contracts.
8. Deliver accurate, high-quality work in a timely and reliable manner.
9. Ability to perform business level mathematics and statistical concepts.
10. Ability to prepare clear, concise, grammatically correct correspondence, documents and emails.
11. Ability to learn and understand the organization and operations of the Human Resources Department and University, as applicable.
12. Ability to independently carry out oral and written instructions.
13. Be reliable and punctual.
14. Proficiency in English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
15. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures independently, and use judgement and discretion to act when precedents do not exist.
