Salary: $60,000 – $65,000
Our client, a transportation company located in the Southeast end of Ottawa, is currently looking for a Bilingual Dispatcher to join their team. This positions’ schedule will become a monthly rotation after 6 months.

Required skills and qualifications:
- Must be bilingual (English and French)
- Must have a clean criminal record
- 2-3 years’ experience in dispatch
- Knowledge of the Ottawa and surrounding areas
- Proficient computer skills and use of Truckmate (can be trained)
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Comfortable working in a blue collared / trades environment
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to analyze situations and provide solutions
- Own vehicle (Not accessible by bus)
Assets:
- Experience in the Transportation/Logistics Industry
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Respond to incoming calls or emails and provide required information (upwards of 200 emails / day (most are pick up confirmations – data entry)
- Driver Dispatch – Entering pickups and tracing customer shipments
- Deal with over, short & damaged products issues (OS&D)
- Operate a forklift from time to time when short staffed
- Other duties as assigned
The salary for this position ranges from $60,000 – $65,000 per year depending on experience.
Shift:
Monthly rotation as follows:
- Monday to Friday – 7:00am to 3:30pm
- Monday to Friday – 11:00am – 7:30pm
