Job description: Express SRG is recruiting for a Direct hire Assistant Controller for a Large wholesale client in St. Mary’s, ON. Reporting directly to the CFO; this position will be the financial expert for the organization and will be supervising a junior accounting team.

Responsibilities:(Not limited to: )
- Supervising, coaching and mentoring finance and administrative staff members
- Oversee accounts payable and account receivable
- Assist with month end closing by approving and entering journal entries
- Budgeting and forecasting
- General ledger account reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements for review and approval by CFO
- Assist with year-end audit by preparing working papers for external auditors
- Prepare government filings and remittances / Annual reconciliations of EHT and WSIB
- Monthly bank reconciliation of multiple accounts – daily monitoring of account balances.
- Manage foreign exchange transactions
- Other related duties as required or assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years accounting experience which includes some supervision
- CPA or working towards
- Knowledge of ERP computer systems an asset
- Financial analysis, budgeting and some strategic planning experience
