“There are 10 subdivisions including Summerwood, Broadmoor, Craigavon and Woodbridge to name a few, and there will be giant poster sized eggs at each of these 10 locations,” he said. “You drive around these 10 subdivisions with your family and snap a photo with you and the egg in it and every egg you find is an entry into the prize draw.”
A new addition this year is a toonie carnival, which will be located at 37 Athabascan Avenue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 8. The Strathcona Food Bank drop off station will be at the toonie carnival.
“Everyone will walk away with a prize (at the toonie carnival),” McEwen said. “Some of the more intriguing games where you can win a Nintendo Switch includes a lock on a tickle trunk and participants have a one in 300 chance of picking the right key to opening the trunk.”

This year’s event will also be collecting for the Strathcona Food Bank.
“We have plans to get as much non-perishable items and raise some funds for them so they can get fresh produce and meat for the individuals in need,” he said. “I’d love to see the community raise a couple thousand pounds of food and maybe $5,000 this year.”
Last year, the event was able to raise more than $10,000 for Little Warriors and the Be Brave Ranch.
